So do chicken & apricots, and if you have some fresh cherries to throw into the sauce . . . yum. (And honestly, I find "Hawaiian" pizza delicious - almost as good as mushroom & black olive.) Spam, however, is something you eat on a camping trip, fried, because you can carry it to the last day, it won't go bad, & the squirrels can't open the tin.
Altho as a person with an interest in medieval cookery, I shouldn't snark it. There are recipes for spiced ham-loaf and other spiced meat loaves and pates going back as far as we have written recipes. It's just that Spam leaves itself so open to jokes.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4900113077178420191.post-9399896694975139792016-08-22T06:08:50.873-07:002016-08-22T06:08:50.873-07:00Spam - the nightmare of my teen age years when Mom...Spam - the nightmare of my teen age years when Mom the Horrible Cook went on a 3 month Spam kick (that came after the 5 month quiche kick). I say let the Hawaiians have this stuff. Heat for 20 minutes and serve. Yum.

It's the equivalent of "Canadian" bacon and pineapple pizza, really. The other half won't eat fruit other than apples, so I have learned to hide it in plain sight so he'll eat it. That Spam recipe is right up there with marshmallow salad.
My sympathies on the Win10 conversion. I keep ducking, but I know it's coming one day. I don't eat meat, but I've heard that ham and peaches go well together.
