You must watch this...at first I thought she was using the needle as a shuttle but it is more complex than that. Thanks to Eva at Here-Be-Tatters on Yahoo!Groups for sharing this video.
Beautiful! She looks to be using a basic buttonhole stitch. I've never seen it done like that, with no fabric or cord base. I tried some needle lace using #20 crochet cotton before I had ever seen any in person. Once I did see some up close, worked in a very fine thread, I realized just how chunky and imperfect mine wasI ( I'm still proud of it though :) )
that's beautiful, but I can't help thinking, what about her eyesight?? and you'd never day use the lace, it'd be so precious! ;)
ReplyDeleteHoly mother of purl... that's amazing. Made my hands and eyes ache just to watch, but it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there's a "moose lace" version of that that I could actually do?
Amazing.
I sure wouldn't do it by candlelight.
ReplyDeleteSHAY!!! This is fascinating! Thank you so much for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteI am fascinated, I couldn't quite make out the stitch, but it was so beautiful when she had finished.
ReplyDeleteThank you Shay for the link on my blog. It is always useful to see more lessons :)
