This was featured in the Winter 1945-1946 issue of
McCall's Needlework and Crafts. This particular pattern was not intended for kitchen or bedroom linens, but could be embroidered on a blouse or jacket to give it just a little bit of "oomph." A larger image can be downloaded from my

How apropos for the '40s! A lovely, long-lasting substitute for the orchid corsages that were so popular at that time.
