There are a lot of paragraph breaks in this book.Like after every sentence.Or sentence fragment.It is a bit jarring to read.My verification word is "scoffit."
When I look at what passed for popular fiction back then I'm convinced I was born in the wrong century. I could have made a decent living writing yellow-backed thrillers.
