Something I Never Thought I'd Hear Myself Saying

“My Impala has mice.”

  1. Have you considered finding a little girl kitten to keep Reserve Cat company as lady cats are ferocious hunters? Hope you're wiring is OK.

  2. My wiring is NOT ok, it is going to have to be completely replaced, and the only bright spot is that our comprehensive policy with the car insurance people will cover it.

And yes -- Reserve Cat has been put on notice that he's getting a sister. I don't think it has sunk in yet.

  3. We had a mouse die in our van many years ago. We made this revolting discovery when we turned on the a/c, and the aroma just about knocked us out. Our mechanic said he could take off the dash panel and look for it, but with the air bags, the cost would be more than he wanted to charge us. Since we live where we can leave the windows rolled down, the miasma eventually dissipated.

We found the poor critter sometime later, when we opened the ash tray (I have no idea why) and there he was, belly up, just a skeleton, moldering away.

  4. Well, there goes Reserve Cat's life of leisure. The little bundle of fluff we brought home with our full grown boy (as two cats are better than one) has blossomed into a fierce girl almost as big as him who hunts him, sits on him, makes her dough on him, moves him out of his favourite spots, nibbles on his ears, gallops over/under/around him, and generally runs the show. He's taken to sleeping in high places she can't reach with her short legs when he wants some peace. He still thinks he's boss, though, silly boy.

  5. I found stuffing Bounce Dryer sheets all over my engine compartment keeps the mice away. The car smells like a florist ran amok but no micers. Looking forward to meeting your new Resident Pest Control Equipment.

  6. There are some pregnant mamma cats in town so the acquisition will take place sometime in April, we think.

  7. How do you keep the dryer sheets from catching fire?
