Picky, Picky, Picky

The spousal unit has just gotten out the stand mixer.

Me:  Are you going to make pumpkin bread?

He:  How did you know?

Me:  We've been married for thirty-three years.

He:  Thirty-five.

  1. Did he add blueberries to the bread? Reminds me of my mom and step-dad at the local diner. She orders then he orders and watches her eat off his plate. Time and time again. But if he ordered for her, she STILL ate off his plate.

  2. The Squire and I do this sort of thing all the time. Sometimes I wonder why we even bother to talk to eat other. Just think really, really hard and the other person picks up on it. And we've been married 44 years, so the telepathy is even stronger.

  3. A while back, the other half gave me a Happy Anniversary card with "Happy 30th" on it. I made him prove it to me as it seemed like a long six weeks, not 30 years.

  5. Once upon a time - I might have been four or five - my parents had one of those

    "Did you. . .?"

    "Yes"

    "What did. . . ?"

    "No"
conversations. I was standing there looking from one to the other, and started hopping from one foot to the other. "What'd he say? What'd he SAY?"
