Good luck with the lights. We have learned to tie the real tree off to two heavy bookcases because the Maine Coons have a habit of climbing the tree or sleeping under it. Not this year - trying a table top tree on top of the TV cabinet. Little Miss Maine Coon likes to kill the lights.
The only time I've ever had a cat climb the tree was the year I put all the old ornaments from the 50s and 60s on it. Good-bye irreplaceable hand blown and painted balls from Italy. I use plastic now, and my critters sleep under the tree, all cozy on the tree skirt, under the lights keeping them warm. Little rotters.

ReplyDeleteOne year a friend took the kid out of the playpen and put the tree in it instead. Kept the child and the dog off the tree, but the cat not so much.
