Vintage Makeovers - A Silk Scarf Blouse from 1947

From the "Found Money" series in Woman's Day, June 1947.  Rationing was over, but returning service personnel were bringing back souvenirs from Europe and the Pacific that could be put to good use replenishing your wardrobe.

That is simply lovely! I have a scarf that is probably large enough for this - it's far too large to just throw over my shoulders. I'll keep you posted.

Haven't been thin enough to do that since I was a teenager, sadly. Did make some shirts like that in college with fabric scraps. Wonder what happened to them now?

Can also be dome with a nice piece of silk, just hem the sides.

I know. I would need TWO scarves. Minimum.

If it's that big, you could probably cut something using a commercial pattern?
