Since you're stuck at home anyway, here's a link to a pattern for face masks. Please, though, call your local health department, senior center and/or doctors' offices to make sure they will accept them.

- Masks need to be snugly fitted at all times.
- Don't touch the outside of the mask once you've put it on.
- Drop used masks into the washer and clean with hot water and a bit of bleach.
- Good idea to write the user's name on each mask with a Sharpie.

Shay, I hope you can put this where folks can find it. Joann Fabric has an on-line tutorial for making masks, and somebody else has suggested adding a twist-tie inside one long seam so the mask can be fit to the wearer's nose. They also have free supplies to help make the masks. You can drop off your completed projects and they will distribute them.

You can also call your local nursing home or assisted living center to donate. I did.
I am a little torn - on the one hand, I'm not finding evidence that cloth masks do anything but offer a false sense of security. On the other, hospitals are asking for them. What gives?
