Really? Your zoo has Pallas cats! I don't care much for the zoo except for the giraffes with their mile long tongues and enchanting eyes, and the big cats who loll in the sun and lazily lick their paws to wash their faces just like my house cats.
" As part of a Miller Park Zoo species survival breeding program, Mischa, a male Pallas' cat that arrived in December, has become a dad.
"It's the first-ever Pallas' cats born at the zoo," said Jay Tetzloff, who heads the zoo and Bloomington Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. "We have three boys and two girls."
Shay - That's one busy zoo you have there. They must have very good staff to be so successful with their breeding programs. Those Pallas kittens are adorable.
Bunnykins - when this Covid19 has run it's course, you should go to the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. FAB!!! The park has a pallas cat - she and I had an early morning chat when the keeper showed up. I told the keeper the cat was mad because breakfast was late - which it was! I will now add the Bloomington Zoo to my "in the future, I will go see this" list.
They also have an albino alligator - not nearly so appealing.
The Miller Park Zoo is part of the international breeding program for endangered species including red pandas, SNOW LEOPARDS!!! - and ruffled lemurs, in fact it heads the Snow Leopard Survival Plan, which for a tiny little zoo in a county that's 91% farmland is rather mind-boggling.
Gee, sounds like home where the lady cats yell at pops if he doesn't do breakfast to their satisfaction. So far, I only have Bruce in Morden, Manitoba on my list for 'after', and Newfoundland cliffs where you can see the remains of prehistoric sea creatures from when the continents collided and shoved Nfld up from the sea. Zoos, eh? They sound wonderful. We could probably plot a zig zag course across the continent and back visiting just zoos and wild animal reserves. I'd love to see the bison and elk. Anything reptilian is off my list. The komodo dragon at the Toronto zoo and the snake house are too much for me. My wandering man hasn't had a good road trip in a while. Hmmm. What a good idea! I'd love to see the Pacific again, too.

Our itty bitty little local zoo had a Pallas cat litter this winter.

They were born LAST spring - time flies etc etc.
