One of our former rectors was a woman named Frances. Every once in a while I'd get a very friendly caller: "This is Mike. Can I talk to Frank?" I knew immediately it was a sales pitch, and would simply tell them Frank didn't work there and hang up.
Back in the Bad Old Days when I had interns, one of the things I took into consideration before hiring, was how they interacted with our amazing receptionist, Martha.
