Wow! Last time we took our two to the cat doctor, she's told us that both our string bean boy and our twice his size chunky lady cat were perfectly normal. They both eat the same. The vet said the girl is a medium fur cat, chunky and short of limb, a perfectly normal cat of her type. News to me. Meanwhile she's working her way up to the size of the sweetheart in your pic or my mother's 30 lb short legged tank of a cat.
She's right: I can hardly pick up my girl. Pick up and run - not a chance.

I took the girls to the vet on Wednesday - Sheba is up to 22 lbs. It may have something to do with the fact that she is almost immobile. At least Blitzen and Minnie chase each other around the house a few times a day.

We used to have a cat we named Blitz because of the way he raced around when he was a kitten. He eventually grew into a 35-pound footstool! The vet's staff referred to him as a "Mrs. R's enormous cat". I was always afraid he'd pull the handles out of the carrier!

Very round and well plumped advice from a fine full figured cat! I shall follow it.
