We have to wire our tree to the ceiling and put unbreakable ornaments on the lower third. Oh, and cover the water reservoir in the tree stand so somebody doesn't drink the pitch-filled water...
The nativity scene is on top of the bookcase, and the "tree" is a swag across the archway between the dining and living rooms. 10 feet off the ground and so far pet-proof.
