Happy Anniversary To Me

I tripped over a rock in the parking lot today.

I have one of those (I chucked a tire at the neighborhood cleanup and something popped) except mine is a "cock-up splint." Makes me giggle every time.

Karen - Cock-up Splint? Wonder how it that name, or how they got that name on the package.
When I googled it, my s/w made me turn off the adult content monitor which I didn't know was set and gave me a warning about obscene pictures. Wonder what they'd do/say about the old dummy tit name for comforters?

Say - Are you bathing it in warm water and Epsom salts? Don't know if it does anything, but it usually feels good.
I vote you stay home, feet up, reading the rest of the week.

The "cock-up" refers to the fact that the wrist is held at an angle in mine. Makes it easier to type with it on, but otherwise I have no idea what the point of the difference is.

The Difference is in the angle in relationship to the injury. Top of wrist needs a different angle than under the wrist/carpel tunnel. I know- have tendonitis on top of my wrist so finding the right splint is hard.

How ever - I do hope Shay you are feeling better!

I'm afraid I assumed cockup splint referred to that old British expression for something that was a mixed up mess.

with I could stay home typing with this thing on is the pits.

You have my sympathy! Last Thursday I finally got around to having the surgery to repair my R thump, which I had pulled out of joint during my last stroke. Almost wish I hadn't bothered. Hurts like the devil, and my splint is not removable. Typing is difficult. Bathing is impossible. Do you know what hairdressers want, just to WASH YOUR HAIR? Um, excuse me. Got a bit upset, there. Anyway, I hope you are not in that thing long. Good luck!

Thumb!, not thump! (I told you typing was difficult.)

Oh, sweetie, so sorry! ! I tripped on a little step up in our garage last year, hit the wall, busted my wrist and have a plate and screws in it now. It matches the other one now, which I broke 8 years ago. Then I tripped in April, and cracked my elbow. So we have to be totally aware of our footing and, like the "Master and Commander" series: "A HAND FOR YOUR SELF AND A HAND FOR THE SHIP!!!"

My sympathies to all, and wishes for speedy healing.
I'm (still) waiting for two knee replacements, so am a grumpy, knitting, ice pack laden lump.

At least now, there are ways to patch people back together and it won't be permanent.
