Wow. Last time I saw anything like that, it was the Red River flooding farm country in Manitoba, leaving islands of sandbagged homes and farms.

I have to be a little petty here - why should we rebuild in flood prone areas when the state has such lax (if any) building codes? My friend outside Houston has no building code and no inspectors to vouch for work being done. FEMA gave the Northeast such hard times after Irene and Sandy. (done with rant). I do feel for those affected. it sucks.

This is why northern businesses are relocating to Texas -- none of those silly regulations that tie up companies who want to expand.

And of course, the Tangerine Tornado is trying his best to undo all of the regs President Obama put in place - including building in flood zones and the like.
