Doggie Valium, Maybe?

Since late Saturday afternoon Batdog has been acting as though he's trying to tell us that Timmy has fallen down the well.  We can't figure out what's bothering him and it's driving us crazy.

Have you looked in the well?

Aliens? Weird critters on the patio furniture in the snow? Ear mites?

Do you have a crawl space under the house or porch? Could be a place for a cat or raccoon to give birth. Is there a space for anything to get trapped in the garage or in the attic? Do you have a chimney that something could fall down and get trapped in? We had a squirrel fall down an unused old chimney and somehow end up in the air ducts of the new furnace - don't ask me how, and have had raccoons and skunks under an addition and under the front porch, cat with kits under the back deck, a bird down a wood stove chimney, a soccer playing squirrel in the attic, critters everywhere over the years. A mouse? This is the time of year when new mothers are looking for places to nest to give birth. Too bad Bat Ears can't just point at what he's hearing or smelling.

Bunnykins -- Brian has checked everything but we're thinking about putting out traps. He's gotten a bit better but is still jumpy.

Sam -- we still don't know.

Anon -- har har har.

I used a portable radio set to a talk radio station on really low to chase the raccoons out from under the back addition after one of them hissed at me and all of a sudden it wasn't live and let live any more. It took about a week, but they decamped without a fuss. Easier than trapping if that's the problem. Oh, and the other half peed on the ground near them, too. Don't know if it works, but it's easy and free.

This screwy weather may have something to do with it, as well.
