Crochet - Some "Trimmings" from WWI

Did you notice the "conservative" recipes for cakes and breads on page 14? Lots of saved crumbs and rye flour in them. Rationing? There's always so much in these old magazines.

Some of the recipes leave...something to be desired.

Yes. I've had the good luck to not have eaten anything remotely like those 'cakes and breads' - yet. They'd make a good addition to a survivalist's cookbook, though.
