I found all sort paperdolls over there but not this one. Was it near the top of the index or near the bottom?

IIRC it was on p34 of the very first issue, January.

I remember as a child taking a women’s home magazine (the name escapes me - Mac something) borrowed from the library, then you put a thin sheet of paper over the paper doll page against a window and, presto, you could copy the paper doll, cut it out and paste it on cardboard then design your own clothes. Did it with Betty and Veronica in the Archie comics when we were slightly older and wanted more glamorous paper dolls.

Was that McCall's Magazine? Betsy McCall was the doll's name. I saved some of those and tried to dress my daughter in a similar fashion.

The Betsy McCall page is almost always missing when you buy or read an older McCall's magazine online - it was a very popular feature. One of the doll companies even made a Betsy McCall - she was 8 inches so could wear Penny Brite and other 8 inch doll's clothes.
