We are passing through Bingen on the Rhine and the Bishop's Tower is on the north bank (he was a real person and a very cruel man). This poem gave me nightmares when I read it at age nine or so.

Definitely nightmare inducing! Oliver Cromwell did much the same thing, but without telling people he was going to feed them.

Well, that's just cheerful, lol. Definitely not a nice man and it would have given me nightmares too!
