Sewing - A Dishtowel Dirndl and Top from 1947

From the Woman's Day "Found Money" article, August, 1947: "Probably we're presenting this wrong by calling it a dish towel dirndl, although that's what it is.  It's also very darling and very smart.  If we'd titled it "Cotton Play Dress with a Mexican Air" it would sound more chi-chi."

This top, bag and skirt - perfect for a hot, muggy summer's day - is to be made from inexpensive kitchen towel fabric. Two pages of instructions can be downloaded from my Flickr account.

Very thrifty - can be used as a napkin too!
