National Preparedness Month, VIII

(Although personally I don't stockpile water but I have the means to purify it, if need be).

it's odd. i grew up thinking to save water in jugs because my g'ma had a well in the Appalachians, higher altitude of the south-east. you needed water around to prime your well sometimes. then, later, DH and I lived in a small town west of boulder, co. every spring, the run-off flooded our little water treatment plant, so every spring, you needed some water for a week just to get through that period. also yearly, it seemed the power went out for one reason or another, so your water pump doesn't work then. not to mention, your electric is down then.
i guess it just seemed you ought to have some sort of backup all the year round.
i can't survive for months, but, seems like where-ever i've been, you have to have some sort of back-up plan.
weird.
