And the cat is not under the bed, she's under the PILLOWS (or was last year - the noisemakers haven't gotten serious here yet).

Fortunately - or not - it is raining in the Baltimore area at the moment. (8:30) We had a lot of noise last night, but neither the dog nor the cat seemed too concerned.

I've found anything by Leonard Cohen or Willie Nelson puts the critters out cold. None of them has ever made it through a whole album. It was an accident. The other half was testing out speakers and kept playing the same set of albums over and over. Those were the only ones that conked them out. Worth a try?

@ Bunnykins: When your cat is having a full-blown panic attack and you cannot make her understand "Kitty is safe, it's OK, monsters cannot get in the house!" - Yes. Almost anything would be worth trying! Seems to me both singers have low, mellow voices, at least on most of their work, yes?

Yes, Maplestitcher, low and mellow, esp Cohen whose voice got lower and slower the past decade or so.

I imagine a recording of James Earl Jones or Gregory Peck reading just about anything would also do the trick.

Aah, Gregory Peck.
