Quote Of The Day

If you cannot walk more than a block in your shoes, they are not shoes; they are pretty sculptures that you happen to have attached to your feet.  ~ Linda Przybysewski

Quite a few years ago I was wandering through a store looking for a pair of shoes for myself, when I overheard an argument between a young teenager and her mum. The mum simply refused to buy the girl any shoes that were larger than what she herself wore.

"I wear an 8, and it's ridiculous that you want shoes larger than that."

"Mummy, I don't WANT them, I NEED them!

The girl tried to force her foot into a shoe that was the size her mother wanted, and she couldn't do it. The mother slapped the girl and accused her of curling up her toes. I just wanted to go over there and take the poor child home with me!

Those aren't shoes; those are weapons.

Where was the shoe size measuring thing? Someone should have (smacked the mother with) taught the mother how to use it. How awful for that girl. There's never shop help when it's needed (grump.)

I never will understand high heels. I know they are a fashion item(like thongs) men have brain-washed women to wear because they're supposed to be sexy, but why do women, especially women who've reached a certain status in life go along with it?
And shame on that mother for choosing vanity over her child's health. Just horrid!
