At least they have given you a start to a dictionary of southern terms. Rather nice of them. But Bunnykins is correct, staying is being dumb and dangerous. Not a good combination.
Eldest daughter lives just outside of Charleston, and has hauled herself and the kids back to Baltimore twice. Florence fizzled, but it looks as if she's really dodged a bullet this time.
My attitude is, if you ignore an evac order, you are on your own. Why should somebody else risk their life if you were too dumb to save your own?
