The cat views the tree as just an enormous cat toy. We've had to wire it to the ceiling and only put non-breakables on the bottom third.

We have no tree - just evergreen swags over the fireplace and doors with ornaments.

We also had to move the Nativity scene to the top of the bookshelf - one of the cats kept walking off with baby Jesus.

Live tree tied to 2 heavy bookcases, only non-breakables the bottom third, NO tinsel and all Nativities are on shelves or behind glass. Maine Coons are climbers and sneaky.

We used to have a cat that would climb into the manger scene and cozy up to The Babe.

There's an old legend that of all the animals in the barn, the cat most understood how hard it was to provide for a newborn. She went out and caught a mouse, which she presented to Mary. The Mother laughed and scratched the cat between the ears, and to this day, cats have an "M" on their forehead, to remind us that no one is too small or insignificant to be precious in God's eyes.

That's rather sweet. Kind of like the legend of the cross on the donkeys back.

Be warned - I've swiped and will be sharing this.

No problem. It isn't original. I can't even remembered where I first read it.
