Over the next couple of weeks I will be posting some one-skein patterns from a vintage Columbia Minerva pattern book that I acquired during an estate sale last summer. The book is undated but the fashions and the hairstyles are from the early sixties.
Instructions for the bonnet, booties and thumbless mittens can be downloaded from my
Flickr account.

That's pretty cool.. I'll be looking forward to more patterns to view.
cool! I can knit a scarf in plain or pearl but a friend is teaching me soon how to follow a pattern - can't wait!
When I was down in Louisiana working for the Red Cross after Hurricanes Katrina/Rita, a very nice Mennonite lady from South Dakota presented me with a pair of slipper socks that look just like those booties. I've been trying to figure out how to copy them, and now I think I know.
I think that image of the mother and daughter is so wonderful! I wish I could knit. I can sew and now am becoming a mean ironer (is that a word?)I can bake up a storm and my cooking repetoire is increasing, but I cannot knit. I would like to learn one day, though.
