Other Crafts - A Leaf Leather Belt from 1960

 

An attractive and not too difficult belt to make from leather scraps and a purchased buckle. This was found in Handcrafts for the Homebound Handicapped, published long before parents began waking up to the idea that all children have the right to a public education.  It's on page 36 of a one-hour borrow from archive.org.

Vintage Workbaskets - A Knitted Rug and a Bonus Project from 1955

 

From the stash I brought home from Detroit, two projects from the June 1955 Workbasket magazine - a crocheted belt and a round rug, knitted in wedges and finished off with a fringe.
