As promised, I have scanned the chapter on using bias tape from a late 20's or possibly very early 30's sewing book from the Spool Cotton Company; it can be downloaded from my
Flickr account. Three pages of illustrations on making collars from bias tape are included (left-click on the above for more detail). If I have time this weekend I'll scan the rest of the booklet.

Thank you for the download! Doing a play set inthe 20's come spring, so this is valuable!
Aren't they beautiful!
Thank you for sharing!
pretty! Have you put up any sewn hat patterns? I've got a short haircut now and looking for vintage hats to make. thanks!
Anon - please check my Flickr account for other 1920's patterns. Would love to see pictures of the finished product when you're done!

Holy moly. Those are gorgeous.
Please tell me you're going to put these patterns to good use. Perhaps you'll show us pix when they're done?
Miss Kitty, I put my patterns to the best possible use. I share them :-)
(Seriously, if I had to do all of these projects I could never die).
Share them? Ohh, do tell! :-P
My Mom would crap if I asked her to put these designs on a collar. I can't embarrass her, but I *can* 1) gross her out; and 2) make her say "I need a drink" by showing her awesome/difficult patterns. EPIC LOLZ!
In the meantime, I'll be working on my hand-stitchery skills.
This is really fantastic; lots of great, usable ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Well, I didn't scan the rest of the booklet...I slept most of the weekend (op-tempo is heating up at work, lots of overtime but man am I tired).
Maybe this weekend.
Behave yourself, Miss Kitty; the last thing I need is a southern mama mad at me...
