You know, back in the old days, monitors were output-only devices. They didn't talk back to the computer. My uncle had a similar situation a few weeks ago. As Twain said, "[A]ll the modern inconveniences."
My Red Cross colleague who's day job is with HP sneered (albeit politely) when I told him it was a Dell.
