Unthreaded
Someone -- and I rather suspect Reserve Cat, it's the sort of quiet amusement that pleases him -- brought a spool of thread out of the sewing room and unrolled it all over the basement.

LOL sounds like the time our cat decided to play with the thread on my 3 different machines.. had it all strung up and down the sewing table..
Trade you-dh rigged a stand for the christmas tree-so the little black cat hopefully wouldn't eat it. Looks weird-but we thought it might work. This am there was --well, a little gift left with artificial pine needles in it...back to the drawing board!
I'm still unwinding parts of it!
At least you weren't trying to thread a needle when the spool went a rolling....
