Showed this to the other half who loves it and wants to post it to all his motorcycle riding buddies, most of them also oldies, and most who have ridden cross country and through the Rockies a few times. Ah, the tales of grizzlies and moose avoided and, once, a bald eagle resting in the middle of a mountain road, calmly daring him to ride on. Wish we had a pic of that. Meanwhile, he's out looking for a new bike. Gotta love 'em.

It's from this site:

The spousal unit loves it too...the woods around Camp Lejeune are full of black bears, since the area is set aside for training, thousands of acres of it, with no people. He would run into them occasionally while they were out doing patrols.

When we hosted a NATO exercise back in '96 the European press about fell over themselves taking photos of a mamma black bear with three cubs who showed up at LZ Bluebird (where the main camp was) to raid the dumpsters every day.
