Promotion

Congratulate me.  I am now both the transportation manager and the warehouse supervisor, which means I get to play with pallet jacks and other neat stuff.

They still won’t let me drive the forklift, though.

Had to look up pallet jack. I could do with one of those around the garden. No more lugging bags of mulch or heavy earth filled pots. Looks much easier than the little trolley I have. Hmmm.
Are you having fun?

Getting a little tired of supermarket food.

Up here, firemen usually have kitchens in their fire houses and they cook when they're on shift. Wonder if they could make a huge pot or two of something for you and the volunteers.

Love the thought of a gal using the pallet jacks! Got to play with them when I worked at a tile store. But you NEED to drive the fork lift - manager's right. After all, if you don't know how to run them, how can you tell if the guys are doing the job correctly? And Bunnykins is right - ask the firemen to cook. That's one reason I go to Vermont for New Year's - firemen can really cook! And congrats on the retired person's promotion. How much longer will you be there?

Being fed by fireman isn't practical because there are 25 of us and we've been here for a while :-) Otherwise I'd say that's a great idea.

I don't know how much longer the DR operations office will stay open -- I only know that I have to be back home by the 19th.

And I can't drive the forklift because some killjoy keeps reminding us you have to have a license for that.

Since when do you need a license to drive a forklift? Even in the warehouse? Can't you ask for training by another killjoy as "preparing for the zombie invasion"?
