This makes me think of the gardens of my great aunts which were the size of the average city house lot these days. All that canning and no air conditioning. Yowza.
Maybe she ought to pick up fewer jars? Doesn't look like she has a firm grip on some of them. Can you imagine the mess(not to mention the wasted food) if any of them drop?

I still have a couple of old Woman's Day magazines with posters very similar to this.
I imagine if you were lucky enough in those days to get your hands on a pressure cooker, you prized it above rubies.
