He Has A Point

Six women stagger out of the Edinburgh Yarn Festival venue, heavily laden with bags and purchases, and crawl into a taxi.

Driver (eyeing the lot):  Wouldnae it be cheaper tae just tak' a sheep home wid ye?

Love it! We all missed you! So glad you had a great time!

We all come home similarly laden when we leave a miniatures convention, but the packages are smaller.

I am glad you had a good time. Maybe you do need a sheep of your own.

I already have the shepherd!

Welcome back! Good haul you've got there. Love the buttons! There's a couple of women outside town where I live who sell their hand spun, hand dyed yarn in a local crafty yarn store. Great for keeping the lawn mowed and fertilized, but, oh, the work in turning fleece into yarn.

Yarn is way easier to get on a plane than a sheep. Glad you are home and had a good time (given the booty you posted).

Ooooh, yarn swag! What did you get? What did you see?

What I got is in the picture - for socks and shawls, mostly. Some tourist tchotchkes (refrigerator magnets, tea towel, coaster, etc), a cashmere sweater (drool), a couple of books.

The green lump at the bottom right is a skein of wool that I bought the first day and knitted up quickly when I realized I had forgotten to bring a hat!

Oh, and buttons. Pewter buttons for the lovely lady who runs the local yarn shop and who loaned me a set of dpns when the equipment list for the class I had signed up for included them -- and I don't have any!

I figured that bringing a gift of yarn back to someone who owns a yarn shop was carrying coals to Newcastle.
