I get frosted when somebody says "Have a happy Memorial Day". Nice? Maybe. Safe? OK. But happy? This is NOT a happy day, thank you VERY much.
My Nana sent off fours boys to WWII - my dad, his two brothers, and a son-in-law - and got all four back. Probably nothing short of a miracle, really.
God Bless all who serve.
Vets have told me the best memorial would be "never again." They've kept us safe and I am deeply grateful. Let's do what we can to keep them safe as well by finding another way to solve problems than to go to war.
