This was on a local library's FB page: "The Library will make full-service Bookmobile stops today to the Four Seasons, Oakwood, and Park Place stops.
However, as a needed part is now being located or re-manufactured, we've temporarily fixed the Bookmobile using Duct Tape (we kid), and we will not have air conditioning at these stops (we don't kid)."

When I was home on summer vacations, the arrival of the bookmobile was the highlight of the week. As far as I was concerned, it was the equivalent of a mobile candy store. Where to look first? I don't particularly remember it being air-conditioned, but the engine ran the entire time they were there so it may have been.
(Did you think you could sneak a bit of Chaucer past us?)

I love that truck! Perhaps an old catering truck or canteen?
I'm from Toronto where the library has started free library book boxes, an idea from a young man who put up the first one. Oddly enough, it works.
I'd love to have a bookmobile roaming the neighbourhood where I am now. Better than the ice cream truck.
