She also takes care of her own. I'll bet most of those trees come right back and the earth will grow right up through all that concrete and debris...
People think that Nature can take more abuse than it should, or maybe they just don't want to be responsible for the damage?
I think it's more a case that we get used to it and don't notice it's happening anymore - kind of like the frog in the boiling water story.
No wonder why "learn from your mistakes" is a common saying. The firefighters who ran in when everyone else ran out deserve a medal.
