ICK! The food product that will not die, vamoose or evaporate.
Actually it's not, or wasn't, that bad. I used to shred it up for salads and dh had a thing for fried Spam with fried eggs. (Not my thing but I could fix it for him, lol.) It was gross when it came out of the can, and I always had to rinse it off. It was a not too, terrible but edible, food that was useful for many dishes. Now though, it's been changed and it tastes really weird to me. Guess they made it healthy and ruined it. And if you think this is "bad", you should see what the Hawaiians do to it.
Yes, I've read elsewhere that Spam is almost the state dish of Hawaii.
Every once in a while, I get a craving for Spam, buy a tin, set it in the cupboard, then spend the next week wondering what on earth got into me.
There is a Hawaiian restaurant near us and there is one section of the menu devoted to Spam dishes. There are a lot of advantages to being a vegetarian.
