I think those are Mackerel tabby cats. The stripe pattern is really different from any cat I've had. If they are, the photographer made a good choice for his delightful picture.
completely off topic here but you and so many of your followers are knitters, I thought I would point out that Australia needs knitted bird nests, koala mittens, and joey pouches as part of its animal rescue efforts in the face of these massive fires.

Nora, do you have any sort of info - knitting patterns, etc.? I don't knit well, but I'm more than willing, and I have friends who also knit.
