That looks like the nervous laughter after a near fatal experience. And, yes, please, never again. You're scaring the relatives and neighbours.
One of my grandmother's (born 1895) favorite scoldings was "You're giving scandal to the neighbors!"That's what we've been doing for four years, now.
Was your grandmother Irish by any chance? That sounds like something my grandfather would ahve said.
Conway on one side and McMahon on the other - BOTH my grandmothers were Irish.
