Overkill

This is what happens when, in the discharge of your duties, you slice a very small snippet off the end of your thumb, and it won't stop bleeding, and you request a bandaid from the Red Cross RN on duty who is a Level 1 trauma nurse in civilian life.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell

The national lead for transportation management volunteers just sent a few hundred of us an email with the greeting "Good Afternoon fellow Trannies!"

Maximum Security

not a very good picture but Batdog could not keep still

Arrived home yesterday evening and since then have not been allowed to make one single step unescorted.  Not even in the middle of the night, to the bathroom.

Aunt Martha's Workbasket, March 1937

Some nice projects in this one - crocheted edgings and a "beverage set," the Dogwood and Vanishing Star quilt patterns, pompom toys and a pretty knitting bag.  Free download at the Antiques Pattern Library

Grrrsday

Yes, this is bad, but we went on a mule-drawn packet boat tour of the I&M Canal today.

Aunt Martha's Workbasket, February 1937

An attractive sports blouse in crochet and a Japanese Lantern quilt pattern are the high points of this issue (and several baby items, not my cup of tea).  The page numbers appear to be out of order or maybe I'm just under-caffeinated.  Free download from the Antique Pattern Library

Outstanding In His Field

That he is whistling "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" makes it even better.
