Needle Lace

You must watch this...at first I thought she was using the needle as a shuttle but it is more complex than that. Thanks to Eva at Here-Be-Tatters on Yahoo!Groups for sharing this video.

that's beautiful, but I can't help thinking, what about her eyesight?? and you'd never day use the lace, it'd be so precious! ;)

Holy mother of purl... that's amazing. Made my hands and eyes ache just to watch, but it's lovely.

I wonder if there's a "moose lace" version of that that I could actually do?

Amazing.

I sure wouldn't do it by candlelight.

I am fascinated, I couldn't quite make out the stitch, but it was so beautiful when she had finished.

Beautiful! She looks to be using a basic buttonhole stitch. I've never seen it done like that, with no fabric or cord base.
I tried some needle lace using #20 crochet cotton before I had ever seen any in person. Once I did see some up close, worked in a very fine thread, I realized just how chunky and imperfect mine wasI ( I'm still proud of it though :) )
