Knitting - A Swinging 60's Sweater

Interesting pattern stitch. From Spinnerin Mills' Fashion Excitement, published in 1963. Pattern on Flickr.

This is gorgeous. If you hadn't said this was from 1963, I would have never have guessed that. It looks so modern. Even the hair style looks "newer" than 1963.

I like it too!!!

It's nice save for the color, and that horribly uncomfortable boatneck.

As if neck shaping was too hard to do with that stitch pattern.

I always love the titles "Fashion Excitment" cracks me up. It is a beautiful pattern though.

I don't care for the boatneck either but I think that's a luscious pink (I like pink. I've been told I'm not supposed to, but I do).

Just been catching up--looks like you've been having a lot of fun inside, out of the cold and snow! :) How are the dogs doing?

Shay, just curious - why aren't you supposed to like pink? I was told I wasn't supposed to like it, either.

My mom didn't like pink. She also thought that because I'm a redhead I should never wear it. I love pink. I feel good when I wear it. I get compliments when I wear it.

Now that everyone mentions the neckline, it does look like it would cut or at least be bothersome.

Even more awesome than the sweater is that HAIRDO.

Mom just rolls her eyes and gives me The Look whenever I say I need to grow my hair out for that Jackie Kennedy 1960s 'do: "I had that hair. It sucked back then, and it sucks now."

Both of my sisters are anti-pink; I don't know why. They have told me many times that pink is a bad color for me.

(I like pink, damnit).
