Patterns of the Past - An Attractive Housecoat

Sometime in the 40's (there's a 1-cent stamp on the envelope), American Weekly sent this housecoat pattern to a woman who, evidently, never made it up. I would, I would make it floor length, and I would make it of polar fleece in a deep, warm color like mulberry.

Heck, I would make it and wear it as a dress!

It does remind me of a dress but I'd agree that it would be great made with fleece

If I were much of a seamstress I'd make it long, too, with long sleeves as well. I think mulberry fleece would really set it off.

Your idea is wonderful. I would make one out of fleece or quilted fabric for winter and one out of flannel for our chilly summer mornings. Why stop with one? LOL And, yes, this would make a really pretty dress.
