It is far more likely, of course, that I saw this guy.
Peregrine falcons are not normally found perching on metal fenceposts in the middle of the upland corn prairie (which is why I started hyperventilating when I saw the black tail bars), but Broad-Winged Hawks are. Oh well...it's still something to add to my life list.
