I hate this day as it always reminds me of being a kid coming home from school every year to see my mother with the house shuttered and dark and her crying for her lost brother and friends. Nonetheless, we have been a lucky family, having lost only a few.
My father and all three of my uncles served in WWII, and we did so much for those returning veterans. It is a shame and a scandal that we have let our Viet Nam vets down so badly. We should spend money on our vets instead of hopeless wastes such as the F-35.
