I can only remember the time the then-current duo of dogs got hold of a box of Bisquick....

That's the so sad face I used to see when boss cat frightened my forever puppy who was several times his size. Nobody is ever sorrier looking than a dog, even when it's not their fault.

You actually got a CAT to look guilty?!

Well, boss cat used to get huffy, not guilty, but his little brother, the orange guy, who wasn't really up on what being a cat was all about, used to act guilty when caught in the act of shredding the sofa. Didn't stop him, but at least he looked like he knew he was in trouble. Never looked that way when he washed his feet in the puppy's water dish or ate my yarn or threw up against a piece of furniture. Sofa shredding meant squirt bottle and no lap, so maybe it wasn't guilt after all.
