Sewing - Bloomers and a Costume Slip from 1929

The Clarks O.N.T Thread Company published a number of sewing booklets in the teens and twenties of the last century. This one is from 1929.

These are half-page copies. Full instructions on drafting and making the bloomers and the slip above can be downloaded from my Flickr account.

I own an original copy, but I've seen reprints that are available on eBay.

Clothing sure has changed over the years. A person could make several panties with the amount of fabric in those bloomers.

this sillohuette looks so simple and boyish compared to my girdle garters hose slip crinoline cone bra and dresses! I guess after wwI everyone wanted to be free and easy after wwII it was back to business baby making an such thus the hourglass has returned. I do like it, but I have to watch my figure now! Have you made this pattern?
